iPhone 5 Carbon with 8MP Camera & A8 processor

We are all wondering what the fifth-generation iPhone will look like and what features it will contain when it finally arrives, well here is a little something to wet your appetite.
H.D.I Design have created an iPhone 5

Carbon concept, just to tantalise our taste buds, whilst we await the release of the smartphone, possibly in September or October

and even as late as 2012

. The concept shows a 4-inch display, with an 1120 x 780 pixel resolution and an 8-megapixel camera, capable of 1080p HD 30 fps video capture.
The camera uses a dual LED flash, other features include: Apple A8 processor (which at present is somewhat of a mystery to us), considering that the latest CPU from Cupertino was the A5 dual core one at almost 1GHz, with the battery on the handset providing up to 18 hours on WiFi and up to 8 hours of 4G functioning time.

With the outer casing made of carbon and glass, this iPhone 5 concept looks quite stunning and fits in well with many of the recent rumours flying about indicating that the phone will have a dual core CPU, 4 inch screen, smaller bezels and no physical Home button.
Brought to our attention by the guys at Concept-Phones

, what do you think of this iPhone 5 Carbon concept and its features? Please let us know below.

HTC Sensation, Galaxy S 2, iPhone 4 Spec Comparison

As with all smartphone that are heading for the public mobile space they get compared to what other smartphone have to offer, usually in the form of a video, but with the new smartphone from HTC, the HTC Sensation

, the specs have been compared without actual video footage.
Thus the guys over at TechRader

have compared the HTC Sensation to the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S 2 in a written article rather than video, actually I prefer spec comparisons done in video form but there you go.
So what are the differences between the three smartphones? Well obviously the main difference is two are Android devices while the other is iOS, both the HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S 2 run Android 2.3 Gingerbread

while the iPhone 4 runs iOS 4.3

, fairly obvious really.
Processor wise both Android handsets sport a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon while the iPhone 4 has a 1GHz processor. Display wise, the HTC Sensation has a Super LCD while the Samsung Galaxy S 2

has a Super AMOLED Plus display and the iPhone 4 as I’m sure you know has a Retina Display/
Storage wise the Sensation has 1GB, which is expandable, while the Galaxy S 2 and the iPhone 4 has 16GB or 32GB although the Galaxy S 2 offers microSD expansion and the iPhone 4 doesn’t.
Camera wise the iPhone 4

loses out here with its 5 megapixel camera while both Android devices offer an 8megapixel snapper and the Galaxy S 2 can do 1080p while the iPhone does 720p video.
Other areas covered in the comparison are connectivity, memory, weight and dimensions, talk and standby times, which you can of course check out by visiting their website. Which device comes out tops? Well is there any point on having a winner as the iOS

faithful will always say the iPhone is better, and likewise the Android

faithful, so I’ll leave you to make up your own mind.

Now that the official UK release date

for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 has been outed, we have a little comparison video footage for your viewing pleasure below of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 against the Samsung Galaxy S and the iPhone 4 comparing the devices thickness.
The comparison video comes our way courtesy the guys over at Phone Arena

.
The original Samsung Galaxy S

is 9.9mm thick, Apple claimed the “thinnest smartphone” title with their iPhone 4 coming in at 9.3mm but now the Samsung Galaxy S 2 snatches that title from the Apple handset as it measures just 8.49mm thick.

iOS 4.3.2 Possibly Releasing in a Couple of Weeks

For all you iOS users out there in Apple land, you just might be seeing a new version of iOS coming your way in the not too distant future if the latest rumour turns out to be spot on, in the form of iOS 4.3.2.
According to an article over on iPhone Download Blog the Boy Genius Report has apparently been told by one of their Apple connections that the company is planning to release iOS 4.3.2 to the iOS masses in a couple of weeks time.
Apparently iOS 4.3.2 will deliver enhancements such as…well here’s what the BGR say… “It’s said to include a few enhancements, address security issues, and it will also fix several bugs that have affected users. We’re told to expect the software update for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in about two weeks.”
That “address security issues” could well mean if you own a jailbroken iPhone you may have to keep well away from iOS 4.3.2 if you want to maintain your jailbreak.
Anyway for those that want the latest update for iOS, keep your eyes open over the coming weeks and if it does hit, then feel free to let us know how it goes or if you experience and problems.

HTC Thunderbolt Challenges Samsung Galaxy S 4G In Comparison Battle Videos

So we’ve already seen the mighty HTC Thunderbolt 4G take on the likes of the iPhone 4, and the T-Mobile myTouch 4G, but how well can the HTC Thunderbolt come out when going head to head against the Samsung Galaxy S 4G?
Well you are about to find out the answer to that as Aaron Baker over at Phone Dog has now come up with a two-part video pitting the Android 2.2 Froyo Thunderbolt against the Android Froyo Samsung Galaxy S 4G in a comparison fight.
Aaron says there aren’t dramatic differences between the HTC smartphone and the Sammy handset when it comes to specs but there are a few differences between hardware, carrier, and software. The tow videos combined deliver just about 24 minutes of comparison, so you might like to set aside a little viewing time.
I won’t go over the specs for each device in this Android against Android fight, but rather just let your head on down to hit those play buttons and see if the HTC Thunderbolt or the Samsung Galaxy S 4g is proclaimed a clear winner…enjoy.

If you are an Android fan on Verizon and waiting for the new HTC smartphone the HTC Incredible 2 then you’re in for a treat as several images of the Android Froyo handset sporting the Verizon branding have popped up on the net waves.

British Prefer Blackberry Touch aka Monaco/Monza Than iPhone 5

With all the hype surrounding the BlackBerry Touch aka Monaco/Monza and the Apple iPhone 5, how great it would be to see which one is currently winning in the popularity stakes.
Are you a dedicated BlackBerry user or one of the iPhone faithful? Well, which ever you are, you may be interested the following survey.
901 people in the United Kingdom were polled in a survey conducted by Good Mobile Phones

and the results come to us by way of Shiny Shiny

. When asked which phone they would rather have, 53% of those polled said the new Blackberry Touch, with only 42% opting for the new Apple iPhone 5.
Apparently, a couple of reasons given for the preference of the BlackBerry rather than the iPhone was ease of use for email and that it seemed more reliable.
See below secret pictures supplied by BoyGenuisReport of the new BlackBerry smartphone.

However, according to this poll, there are still more people actually owning an iPhone (38%), compared with BlackBerry (34%). Thus, indicating that the iPhone still has a slight edge over BlackBerry in the British Market.
iPhone or BlackBerry, which one do you prefer? let us know.
Also of interest to you might be my article yesterday, regarding another poll that was conducted on owners of iPhones, BlackBerrys and Android enabled smartphones – see here

HTC EVO View 4G Releasing with Android 3.0 Honeycomb Confirms Sprint

The Sprint version of the Android tablet the HTC Flyer

, known as the HTC EVO View 4G tablet was originally thought to come out to play sporting the Android Gingerbread

operating system rather than the tablet centric Android Honeycomb OS, but that seems to have changed.
According to an article over on Android Community

 and by way of Cnet

, it appears that Sprint has confirmed that the HTC EVO View 4g device will indeed come out to play packing Android 3.0 Honeycomb as they have stated on their coming soon page

.
Rumours had it that Google was putting a halt on Android 2x tablet devices upgrading to Android 3.0 Honeycomb

; however HTC belayed that particular rumour by announcing the HTC Flyer would be upgraded to Honeycomb.
Thus for those that may have considered bypassing the HTC EVO View 4G

Android Gingerbread Xperia Arc Gets Reviewed

Still sitting on the fence pondering whether to purchase the Android Gingerbread sporting Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc smartphone? If so then perhaps a review of the device might go some way to helping you make up your mind.
So to this end the guys over at Tech Radar have now reviewed the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and say that for a single-core Android handset in 2011 the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc isn’t that expensive at £430 as a SIM free device or £30 a month on contract.
I’m only going to summarise this review as the guys have gone into quite some depth with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc review covering some seven pages, so if you wish to read the entire review you can do so by hitting up their website.
Their first impressions of the Xperia Arc is that the Android device is “unbelievably, impossibly thin” and too light weighing in at 117 grams, while the 4.2-inch touch screen has a small bezel while the device is only just longer than the HTC Desire HD.
I’m pretty sure you’ve all had your fill of Xperia Arc specifications so I wont rehash them here, but they do say the Xperia Arc display is quite as sharp as the iPhone 4, but rather on par with the Samsung Galaxy S.
Other areas covered in the review include contacts and calling, messaging, Internet, the camera, video, and interface, and the guys have also posted a HD video sample, which we have for your viewing pleasure below, so don’t forget to check that out.
So are you still contemplating purchasing the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, or have you snapped up the Android smartphone already?
